On November 18, 2021 an online conference Project management in construction: best practices was held.
The conference was organized by the Ministry of Construction and Architecture of the Republic of Bashkortostan and Project Management Institute.
The conference took place in an online format and gathered over 350 participants from 90 cities of Russia from Sakhalin to Kaliningrad and other countries: Kazakhstan, Armenia, Ukraine, Belarus, Australia, Bulgaria, Germany, Holland and Canada.The participants were represented by specialists from different sectors: Gazprom neft, Inter RAO, KAMAZ, Lukoil, NLMK, NorNickel, UEC, Peton, Rosatom, Rosneft, Rostelecom, RUSAL, Samolet, SIBUR, Tatneft and many others.
At the opening of the conference, Renat Galiev, Director of the Ufa Branch of the PMI Moscow Chapter, made a welcoming speech. The interest in the conference was stipulated by discussions of topical issues of the construction industry which were covered by well-known experts in project management, including Maksim Grishin (PMI St. Petersburg Branch), Alexander Kutuzov (PM Excellence, Moscow), Ruslan Dashkin (Effective Management, Ufa), Evgeny Pikulev (Analytical Center of the Government of the Russian Federation, Moscow).
Alexander Verkin (Sever Minerals, St. Petersburg), Alexander Vasilyev (Bashneft, Ufa), Andrey Teryokhin (Nizhnekamskneftekhim), representatives of large manufacturing companies spoke about the experience of using methods and tools of project management in specific companies.
Alexander Kostanyan (Government of Ontario, Canada) closed the conference with a report on experience of transition to Agile technologies in project management.
The reports delivered dealt with industrial and civil engineering project management applications as well as with practical issues that have recently gained new relevance in construction projects: digitalization of processes, implementation and use of BIM-technologies, agile and hybrid management, etc.
The conference was held in the mode of dynamic exchange of opinions between speakers and listeners. Each report concluded with answers to questions from the participants. Some of the experts received a lot of questions and the organizers had to limit the audience's communication time.
